postheadericon Prepare Your Home For Climate Change And Bugs

None of us wants to think fall is coming, but we like it or not, he will be here soon. As summer leaves us cold and crisp fall air fills, it forces a lot of bugs to pack up and go inside of our homes. Box elder bugs are notorious for invading homes in the masses during the fall season. Also preparing to make your home their home is: carpenter ants, cockroaches, spiders and mice.

While hot, you should begin to prepare and protect your home against pests threatening. The key to keeping insects away is to keep them fully in, because once they multiply and cause structural damage and health problems.

Exterior
* Start your preventive maintenance by walking around outside your house and seal all cracks and holes, especially around windows and doors.
* Next, remove or cut anything to near or touching the house. Things like the branches of tree debris near the woodpile and brush all households in target pests, and due to the direct proximity to the fall in house to come.
* Repair leaks in the roof where moisture is present. We also want to check to make sure that no moisture in your home. Hot spots where the sun strikes, and the places where springs of water meet, are havens for insects.
* When you finish these tasks, you can install yellow compact fluorescent lamps outside. These lights act as a repellent, and if you could be pessimistic, they work really well.

Interior
* When finished outside, move inside. Again make sure that all cracks and holes are closed. You can prevent the entry of the bottom of the doors by installing weather stripping.
* Keep food in open containers or bags tightly closed and do not leave dog food or cat more than a few hours.
* Keep counters and floors clean and free of crumbs and throw in the trash if it sat for a long time.
* Put some traps for mice garage and kitchen cabinets.

One of the best ways to ward off pests is to hire an exterminator to get out and check your house. Not only highlight the problems that would otherwise have gone unnoticed, but can also infect the pest problem before it causes real problems.
